Elementary Sunflower cookies: how to make seasonal pastries
Cool autumn evenings are a time for flavorful sweet pastries. Especially homemade ones. Sunflower cookies are perfect for this occasion. They contain healthy sunflower seeds, which are in season right now.
The idea of making Sunflower cookies was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Daria (recepti_dariko).
Ingredients:
- sugar - 1.5 tbsp
- flour - 500-600 g
- butter - 200 g
- eggs - 3 pcs (+ yolk for greasing)
- peeled sunflower seeds - 100 g
- cognac (or strong tea) - 1 tsp.
- soda - 1/4 tsp.
- salt - a pinch
Method of preparation:
1. Mix the softened butter with sugar, add the egg, baking soda, salt, cognac, and mix.
2. Add flour and knead the dough.
3. Make small buns and crush them with the palm of your hand. Roll the edges of the cookies in the seeds.
4. Brush the middle with egg yolk diluted with water.
5. Bake in a preheated 200 degree oven for 20 minutes
