Eggplant ratatouille with minced meat and hot sauce: a recipe for a hearty dinner dish
Eggplants can be cooked in many ways, such as ratatouille, stews, babaganoush, and casseroles. They can also be stewed, fried, and made into rolls.
The cook shared a recipe for delicious eggplant with meat and hot sauce on Instagram.
Ingredients:
- 2-3 eggplants
- 700 g of minced beef
- 2 onions
- salt and pepper
- 1 tsp suneli hops
For the sauce:
- a little vegetable oil to fry the onions
- 2 large tomatoes
- 0,5-1 onion
- 1 clove of garlic
- a few leaves of basil
- 1 tsp oregano
- salt, pepper, sugar
- 10-15 g of butter
Method of preparation:
1. Peel the eggplants, slice them 1 cm thick, season with salt, and leave them for 10-15 minutes to release the moisture. Dry them with paper towels.
2. Mix the minced meat with onion, salt, and pepper.
3. In a baking dish with a diameter of 20-22 cm, put the eggplant slices and minced meatballs alternately.
4. Sauce: finely chop the onion and fry until soft. Grind the tomatoes in a blender and add to the onion, cook for about 10 minutes. Then add salt, sugar, pepper, oregano, and basil leaves. Add a piece of butter and remove from the heat in a few minutes. Pour the sauce over the eggplant and put it in the oven, preheated to 180 C for 40 minutes.
