There are many recipes for preparing cherries or sweet cherries for the winter: freezing, drying, or making jam. In addition, the berries can be dried, and it is very easy to do at home.
Food blogger Natalia pampyshka_vdoma shared a recipe for dried cherries with garlic, herbs, and olive oil for the winter on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- cherries - 1 kg
- garlic
- allspice peppercorns
- tarragon
- lemon thyme
- basil
- olive oil
Method of preparation:
1. First, prepare the cherries, namely, pit them.
2. Mix the peeled cherries with salt and pepper, and put them in a dryer. Dry for 10 hours at 55 degrees. The main thing is not to overdry, the cherries should be soft.
3. Put the garlic, peppercorns, and aromatic herbs in sterile jars. Add the dried cherries.
4. Heat the olive oil until hot, but do not boil. Fill the jars with it.
5. Seal the jars and store the cherries in the refrigerator. It's ready!
