Mashed potatoes are a dish that no feast is complete without. It is a good side dish for meat and fish. And mashed potatoes with butter or bacon are really delicious. But they only taste good when they are hot, so if guests don't have time to eat them immediately after serving, they go into the fridge and then into the trash. Ingredients:

  • Egg - 1 pc.
  • Mashed potatoes - 800 g
  • Flour - 220 g
  • Garlic - to taste
  • Herbs - to taste
  • Baking powder
  • Salt
  • Oil

Method of preparation:

  1. Add the yolk to the potatoes and mix thoroughly. It is necessary to get a mass without lumps. Then add flour, herbs, spices, and garlic.
  2. Add baking powder and make potato dough. Put it on a floured surface.
  3. Roll out a thin circle of dough and divide it into 8 pieces with a sharp knife.
  4. Heat a frying pan and fry the patties on both sides.

Pita bread envelopes with mashed potatoes

Ingredients:

  • Mashed potatoes - 400 g
  • Chopped bacon or lard - 100 g
  • Green onions - to taste
  • Eggs - 2 pcs.
  • Garlic
  • Hard cheese
  • Two thin sheets of pita bread

Method of preparation:

  1. Mix cold mashed potatoes with chopped lard or bacon, green onions, eggs, and spices. Stir until smooth. Using a pizza knife, divide the pita bread into 8 pieces.
  2. The pieces should resemble squares. Put the prepared potato filling in the center, put cheese inside, and form small envelopes. Connect the opposite edges diagonally.
  3. Dip each envelope in egg. Fry in a hot frying pan.

Mashed potato casserole
  • Potatoes - 500 g
  • Sausages or sausage - 300 g
  • Large onion - 2 pcs.
  • Carrots - 1 pc.
  • Oil - for frying
  • Cheese - 100 g
  • Sour cream
  • Spices - to taste

Method of preparation

  1. Fry onions and carrots in oil and add sausage or sausages. Fry everything for 5 minutes.
  2. Add eggs to the potatoes. Sprinkle the bottom of the baking dish with breadcrumbs. Put half the potatoes, fried sausages, and vegetables on top of the breadcrumbs.
  3. Sprinkle the mixture with cheese and cover with the second part of the potatoes. Spread sour cream on top and put in the oven for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
