Don't throw away lemon peel: how it can be used to make a delicious dessert
The bright yellow outer part of lemons is most often used in baking. It is the flavorful zest that is used. But if you take out the soft core, the hollow halves can be a great base for a very delicate and refined dessert.
The idea of making a sweet dessert in lemons was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Anastasia nisenitnitsia. You can eat it with a spoon straight from the lemons.
Ingredients:
- lemons with thick skin - 3 pcs.
- zest of 1 lemon
- cream 33% - 300 ml.
- juice from lemons - 100 ml.
- powdered sugar - 100 g
- vanilla on the tip of a teaspoon
- agar agar - 1 tsp.
Method of preparation:
1. Wash the lemons well.
2. Divide in half.
3. Remove the pulp and squeeze the juice.
4. Add the zest of 1 lemon, 100 g of powdered sugar, vanilla and 1 tsp of agar agar to the juice (100 ml).
5. Put on the fire, stir.
6. Add heavy cream, stir without bringing to a boil (turn off as soon as bubbles appear).
7. Pour into lemons.
8. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
9. Decorate and enjoy.
