Dogwood jam with seeds: a great preparation for the winter
Dogwood is a rather unique berry that changes its flavor depending on the method of preparation. This also applies to jam. Berries combined with delicious syrup form an incredible mix of sweet and sour, juicy and moderately tart notes.
Food blogger Lilia (lileklilek2) shared a recipe for delicious dogwood jam withs seeds on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- dogwood berries - 1 kg
- sugar - 1 kg
- water - 100 ml
Method of preparation:
1. Pick the berries and remove the tails and dry leaves, if any. After that, wash and put them in a colander to drain the excess water.
2. At this stage, prepare the syrup. To do this, add water to the sugar, stir, put on the fire, bring to a boil and turn off.
3. Pour the berries into the syrup and leave it until it cools completely.
4. When the syrup and berries have cooled completely, put everything back on the fire and bring to a boil. Then leave it to cool completely.
5. As soon as the syrup with berries has cooled down again, put it on the fire, bring to a boil and cook for 5-10 minutes.
6. Pour the hot jam into jars and close with lids.
