The original idea of making syrnyky in the oven for breakfast was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Natalia with the nickname nata.cooking. This dish can be enough for several breakfasts at once.

Ingredients:

  • 540 g of cottage cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 30 g of sugar
  • 40 g flour + for dusting
  • a pinch of vanilla/2 tbsp of chia seeds (optional or can be replaced with poppy seeds)

Ingredients for the sauce:

  • 300 g thick sour cream (fat content of 20%)
  • 1 egg
  • 100 g of strawberries
  • 1 tbsp. powdered sugar

Method of preparation:

1. Add the egg, sugar, vanilla, chia, and flour to the cottage cheese.

2. Mix everything until smooth.

3. Sprinkle the work surface with flour and spread the curd mass (1 tbsp for 1 syrnyk).

4. Next, form a ball in your hands and then use a knife to form the syrnyky.

5. Fry them over medium heat until golden brown for a few minutes on each side. Remove and transfer to a baking dish.

6. For the sauce, add the egg, powdered sugar and strawberries to the sour cream. Beat with a blender until smooth. To prevent the sour cream from curdling during baking, the fat content should be at least 20%. Sour cream must be at room temperature.

7. Pour the prepared sauce over the syrnyky and put them in the oven at 180 degrees for 20 minutes.
