Delicious stuffed peppers with meat and cheese: how to prepare a hearty dish for lunch
Stuffed peppers with meat and cheese are an ideal dish for lunch. It's very satisfying and you don't need to stand at the stove for a long time. While the dish is in the oven, you can go about your business.
The idea of cooking juicy stuffed peppers for lunch was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Olena with the nickname thefoodhub.by ilona. Instead of rice, it is better to use couscous.
Ingredients:
- bell peppers - 4 pcs.
- minced meat - 300 g
- couscous - 100 g
- onion - 1 pc (finely chopped)
- carrot - 1 pc (grated)
- garlic - 2 cloves (chopped)
- tomato puree or paste - 1 tbsp
- paprika - 1.5 tsp.
- hard cheese - 50 g (grated)
- salt, pepper - to taste
- olive oil - 1 tbsp.
Method of preparation:
1. Boil the couscous according to the instructions on the package.
2. Fry onions, carrots and garlic in a frying pan.
3. Then add the minced meat and cook until fully cooked.
4. Add tomato paste, paprika, salt and pepper.
5. Mix the minced meat with the cooked couscous.
6. Cut off the "hats" of the peppers and remove the seeds.
7. Stuff them with a mixture of minced meat and couscous.
8. Put the stuffed peppers in a baking dish, sprinkle with cheese and cover with the caps.
9. Bake at 190 degrees for about 30-35 minutes until the peppers are soft and crusty.
