Pickled tomatoes are a great winter appetizer to prepare in the summer. It tastes good with meat, as well as boiled potatoes or rice.

A food blogger with the nickname v.vanilinka shared how to cook pickled tomatoes so that they turn out perfect on Instagram. There is nothing complicated.

Ingredients

  • medium tomatoes
  • bell pepper - 1 pc
  • garlic - 4-5 cloves
  • bay leaf - 2 pcs
  • dill - a few sprigs
  • allspice - 1 pc
  • black peppercorns - 5-6 pcs
  • salt
  • sugar
  • 9% vinegar

The method of preparation

1. Soak the tomatoes in cold water for several hours.

2. Put dill, bell pepper, garlic, bay leaf, and peppercorns on the bottom of the sterilized jars. Top with tomatoes.

3. Pour boiling water to the top and leave to cool.

4. When the water in the jars has cooled, pour it into a saucepan and add 1 tbsp of salt, sugar and vinegar for each liter.

5. Bring it all to a boil, and pour the brine back into jars.

6. Close tightly with sterilized lids, turn upside down and leave under a blanket.
