Delicious baked lard with garlic and spices: a simple recipe
Lard is a very healthy, valuable, nourishing and tasty product that can be eaten both raw and baked. Lard also makes a delicious bread spread that goes well with borscht.
On Instagram, Volodymyr Yaroslavskyi shared a recipe for delicious baked lard with spices and garlic.
Ingredients:
- lard - 1 kg
- 60-70 g of strong mustard
- ground black and allspice
- 40-50 g of garlic
- 5-6 bay leaves
- salt
- foil
- smoked paprika
Method of preparation:
1. Soak the lard in water and salt (25 g of salt per 1 liter of water) for 4-6 hours. Remove from the water and dry with a towel.
2. Rub the lard with strong mustard, ground peppers and grated garlic. Add ground paprika and soy sauce. Fold the lard in half skin side up, put a bay leaf inside and let it marinate for 4-6 hours.
3. Put the lard in foil and bake at 190 C for 40 minutes. Then unwrap the foil and cook at 200 C for another 10-12 minutes.
