Delicious bagels with apples: what to add to the filling for a pronounced taste
Apple bagels are a versatile homemade pastry that can feed the whole family. And to make sure they turn out well, it's best to make the dough for the bagels yourself. Yeast dough is the most suitable for this purpose, as the bagels will grow well and be soft during the baking process. To make them have a more pronounced flavor, add a little cinnamon to the apple filling.
Food blogger Christina Kay (kristinakey.blog) shared a recipe for apple bagels based on homemade yeast dough on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- flour - 350 g
- milk - 200 ml
- dry yeast - 2 tsp.
- sugar - 100 g
- sunflower oil - 30 ml
- apples - 3 pcs.
- cinnamon - 1 tsp.
- salt
- egg
- powdered sugar
Method of preparation:
1. To prepare the dough, mix sugar, yeast and 100 ml of warm milk. Stir and leave in a warm place for 15 minutes.
2. In a deep bowl, mix 100 ml of warm milk, vegetable oil, and salt, mix with a whisk. Add the dough.
3. Gradually add the flour. Knead soft dough, cover with a towel, and leave for 1 hour in a warm place.
4. For the filling, peel and core the apples. Cut into cubes.
5. Add 1 tbsp of sugar and 1 tsp of cinnamon to the apples. Mix well.
6. When the dough rises, lightly oil the board and knead the dough for 2-3 minutes.
7. Cut the dough into equal pieces, roll each one out thinly. Make cuts on one half of the piece.
8. Put the filling and form bagels. Place on a baking sheet.
9. Lubricate with egg.
10. Bake at 180 degrees for 25 minutes.
11. Sprinkle the finished bagels with powdered sugar.
