If you suddenly want to try to cook something unusual, then Czech cuisine is just right. After all, almost all of them are very satisfying and tasty, and the most interesting thing is that they are very easy to prepare.

The FoodOboz editorial team has prepared for you 3 delicious dishes of traditional Czech cuisine, which have some similarities with Ukrainian cuisine and are simply prepared.

1. Soup in bread

Ingredients for the soup:

  • Mushrooms - 500 g
  • Potatoes - 4 pcs.
  • Onion - 1 pc.
  • Bay leaf - 1 pc.
  • Oil - 2 tbsp. l
  • Cream - 0.5 tbsp
  • Salt, pepper - to taste

For the bread:

  • Flour - 4 tbsp.
  • Water - 3 tbsp.
  • Dry yeast - 3 tsp.
  • Vegetable oil - 3 tbsp.
  • Sugar - 2 tsp.
  • Salt - to taste

How to make the soup:

  1. Put the potatoes in a saucepan with water, and cut into small cubes beforehand. Add bay leaf, salt, pepper and cook until tender.
  2. Chop the onion and mushrooms and fry until tender.
  3. When the potatoes are cooked, put them in a blender with water, you can add cream instead of water, whisk everything well, add the mushrooms, and mix everything.

Pour the finished soup into bread and serve, you can add herbs.

Bread preparation method:

  1. Stir honey into 1/2 cup of warm water, add sugar and yeast, and leave for 15 minutes in a warm place. Mix the remaining water with salt, yeast water, and oil.
  2. Sift the flour and gradually pour in the resulting water and knead a thick dough, cover with a towel, and put in a warm place for an hour.
  3. Divide the finished dough into 4 equal parts, make buns, and send them to the baking tins, but let them stand for 20 minutes beforehand.
  4. After that, you can safely bake them for about an hour at 200 °C.
  5. When the bread is ready, cut off the tops and remove the crumb.
  6. It is best to put the bread in the oven for another 10 minutes before serving.

2. Cottage cheese dumplings with strawberries

  • Strawberries - 10 pcs.
  • Cottage cheese - 250 g
  • Chicken eggs - 1 pc.
  • Semolina - 25 g
  • Wheat flour - 25 g
  • Sugar - 25 g
  • Butter - 25 g
  • Breadcrumbs - 0.5 tbsp
  • Salt - to taste

Method of preparation:

  1. Grind the cottage cheese through a sieve or beat it into a paste with a blender, add butter and semolina, egg, sugar, and salt, and beat until smooth.
  2. Sift the flour and add to the cottage cheese mixture, mix thoroughly. Put the dough in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
  3. Prepare the strawberries: wash them well, remove the tails, and dry them.
  4. Take out the finished dough, roll it in flour, shape it into a sausage, and cut it into 10-12 pieces. Dip each piece separately in flour, put the strawberries, and gently press the dough against the berry to form dumpling balls.
  5. Roll them in flour so that they do not stick to the plate or table, and throw them into boiling well-salted water, cook for about 2-3 minutes.
  6. After that, roll the finished dumplings in coconut flakes, or you can also use breadcrumbs or cookies.

3. Bramboraky

How to cook bramboraky


  • Potatoes - 500 g
  • Flour - 4 tbsp
  • Onion - 1 pc.
  • Eggs - 1 pc.
  • Beer - 100 ml
  • Bacon - 100 g
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tbsp
  • Dry marjoram - to taste
  • Cumin - to taste
  • Table salt - to taste

Method of preparation:

  1. Peel and grate the potatoes on a coarse grater.
  2. Cut the bacon into small cubes.
  3. Peel the onion and cut it into small cubes.
  4. Mix all the ingredients, add the egg, salt, pepper, and cumin.
  5. Add beer and flour and mix well.
  6. Add oil to the frying pan, put the bramboraky, and fry well on both sides until golden brown.

It is better to serve them warm, you can eat them with sour cream.
