Tubes made with phyllo dough are a great alternative to the usual waffle ones. To make them, you don't need to work with flour or bake it for a long time.

Food blogger Yulia Senych shared how to make phyllo tubes on Instagram. She also added that the best filling for them would be custard one.

Ingredients

  • phyllo dough - 1 package
  • butter or oil for frying
  • ingredients for the custard
  • milk - 500 ml
  • egg yolks - 4 pcs
  • starch - 50 gr
  • sugar - 100 gr
  • vanilla sugar - 2 pcs.
  • berries - optional

Method of preparation

1. Defrost the phyllo dough in advance. Grease a sheet of dough with oil or butter.

2. Fold the edges to the center on top of each other. Then fold it into a triangle several times and cut the edge to form an envelope.

3. Insert the crumpled parchment paper inside the tube and put it in the oven preheated to 180 degrees for 25 minutes.

4. For the cream, combine milk with sugar and vanilla sugar. Add eggs and flour and cook until thickened.

5. Cover with cling film and leave in the refrigerator for 4-6 hours.

6. Before filling the tubes, mix the cream well and transfer it to a pastry bag.

7. Fill the tubes with cream and berries. Sprinkle with almond flakes if desired.
