Crispy mashed potatoes in the oven: how to cook a familiar dish in a new way

Mashed potatoes can be boiled or baked. The dish will taste much better with a golden crust. For this dish, you will need phyllo dough and a lot of cheese.

The idea of cooking mashed potatoes with a crispy crust is published on the hot_spicyua   Instagram cooking page. It turns out to be a complete dish that does not require any additions.

Ingredients:

  • potatoes – 5 pcs.
  • cream or milk – 100+50 ml
  • butter – 40 g
  • garlic – 3 cloves
  • spinach – 70 g
  • eggs – 1 pc.
  • olive oil – 3 tbsp.
  • mozzarella – 200-300 g
  • phyllo dough – 4 sheets
  • Parmesan cheese – 2 tbsp.
  • rosemary salt (if you don't like rosemary, replace it with another herb mixture)

Method of preparation:

1. Lightly fry the garlic and spinach in 1 tbsp of olive oil for 1-2 minutes.

2. Boil potatoes, add cream, butter, and rosemary salt.

3. Crush and beat a little with a blender. Add spinach and garlic.

4. Put potatoes, cheese, potatoes, and cheese in layers in the mold.

5. Make a mixture of eggs, 50 ml of milk, and 2 tbsp of vegetable oil. Grease the phyllo dough and put it on top.

6. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese if desired.

7. Put in the oven, preheated to 180 degrees, for 25 minutes.
