Club sandwich with homemade sauce – the perfect lunch option from Hector Jimenez-Bravo

If you want to make a light but hearty snack for lunch, sandwiches are the perfect option. They are also a great picnic food, as they are simple to prepare, but will give you energy for several hours.

TV presenter and MasterChef judge Hector Jimenez-Bravo shared a recipe for delicious club sandwiches with homemade pesto aioli on Instagram, which are definitely worth making at home.

Recipe for club sandwiches


  • Toast bread - 3 pcs.
  • Chicken fillet - 150 g
  • Salt and black pepper - 2 g
  • Cheese - 10 g
  • Bacon - 50 g
  • Egg - 1 pc.
  • Romaine lettuce - 30 g
  • Tomato - 30 g
  • Pickled cucumber - 10 g


  • Sunflower oil - 150 g
  • Egg yolks - 2 pcs.
  • Mustard - 3 g
  • Lemon juice - 3 g
  • Salt - 2 g
  • Pesto sauce - 50 g

Method of preparation:

  1. First, make the pesto aioli: you need to mix the egg yolks, mustard, salt, and lemon juice and beat everything well with an immersion blender, add the oil, and mix.
  2. Add the pesto to the mixture, mix, and the sauce is ready.
  3. Fry the bacon together with the chicken fillet, and season with pepper and salt.
  4. Cut the fillet into slices, put it on the pre-toasted bread, top with the sauce, lettuce, tomato, and pickle, put cheese on top and cover with a second piece of bread, and on top of that – a fried egg and bacon, top with bread again and cut into 4 pieces.
  5. This club sandwich is best served with fries and a salad dressed with olive oil.
