Chicken and mushroom cake with crackers: how to makea a versatile dish

If you happen to have some chicken and mushrooms in the fridge, it's time to make a delicious cake. This dish can be prepared both for a festive table and for everyday meals, it's always a win-win option. The peculiarity of the cake is that it is made with crackers, which gives the dish even more originality and taste.

Food blogger Yulia Symonchuk shared her recipe for a cake with chicken, mushrooms and crackers. It was posted on Instagram.

Ingredients:

  • crackers - 1 pack
  • mushrooms - 200 g
  • onions - 200 g
  • smoked chicken - 150 g
  • walnuts - 30 g
  • butter - 2 tbsp
  • oil - 2 tbsp
  • salt, pepper - to taste
  • cream cheese - 300 g
  • 33% cream - 50 g

Method of preparation:

1. Chop and fry the onion.

2. Chop the mushrooms (set aside some for decoration) and fry together with the onion.

3. Cut the chicken into small pieces.

4. For the cream, mix cream with cream cheese until smooth.

5. Layer the cake as follows: crackers, cream, chicken, and walnuts. Repeat until you run out of ingredients. Leave the cake in the refrigerator overnight.

6. Grease the sides of the cake with cream and garnish with mushrooms and herbs as desired.
