Ingredients:

  • Cherries - 5 kg.
  • Sugar - 40 tbsp.

Method of preparation:

  1. Wash the berries, and remove the seeds so that the berries remain intact.
  2. Conveniently sterilize the jars, add a layer of cherries, then sugar, shake the jar well, and add the cherries and sugar again.
  3. Pour water into a large saucepan and place a towel on the bottom, put the jars in, and cover with lids.
  4. Pour water so that it reaches just above the middle of the jar, bring the water to a boil over moderate heat, and sterilize the jars on low heat for 20 minutes.
  5. When finished, take out the jars and close the lids tightly, be sure to turn them upside down and wrap them in a warm towel or blanket until they cool completely, then put them in a cool, dark place.

2. Cherries in syrup for the winter

Ingredients:

  • cherries - 1 kg
  • sugar - 350-400 g
  • water - 700 ml

Method of preparation:

  1. Wash the cherries, dry them, and do not remove the pits, so the cherries will be much juicier.
  2. Sterilize the jars, and put the cherries somewhere so that 2/3 of the jar is filled.
  3. Boil the water well, fill the jars up to the neck, and leave it for 20 minutes.
  4. After the time has elapsed, pour the water from the jars into a saucepan to make 500 ml, add 250 g of sugar, stir, and bring it to a boil, the main thing is to dissolve the sugar.
  5. Immediately pour the hot syrup over the jars and screw them up.
  6. Turn upside down and cover with a warm cloth, leave to cool.
  7. Put the cooled jars in a cool, dark place so they can be stored for more than a year.
