Chahan with chicken: how to diversify rice dishes
Chicken chahan is a great alternative to plain rice for lunch. It is also called Japanese fried rice. It has an original taste that is hard to compare with anything else.
On Instagram, food blogger Alex Mil showed how to cook chicken chahan. According to him, everyone will definitely like this dish with oriental flavors.
Ingredients
- chicken fillet - 500 gr
- round grain rice - 200 gr
- carrots - 220 gr
- sweet pepper - 150 g
- onion - 150 g
- garlic - 4 cloves
- oil - 35 ml
- vinegar - 30 ml
- salt
- ground ginger
- soy sauce - 3-4 tbsp
- sweet chili sauce - 2 tbsp.
- sesame seeds - for serving
- green onions - for serving
How to cook
1. Rinse the rice 3-5 times and boil over medium heat for 15-20 minutes until tender.
2. Mix vinegar, sugar and salt, pour over the rice and mix well.
3. Pour oil into the frying pan, add ground ginger, the chicken, salt, and fry until golden brown. Remove the meat from the pan.
4. Add chopped onion to the pan and fry for 3-4 minutes, stirring.
5. Add carrots and sweet pepper, cut into thin strips, and chopped garlic, stir-fry for 5-7 minutes and turn off the heat.
6. Add the meat and rice, pour in the soy sauce and sweet chili. Stir to combine.
7. To serve, sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions.
