Caprese pie made of puff pastry, with pesto, cheese and tomatoes: the simplest baking recipe
Puff pastry is an ideal product for making delicious pies with sweet and savory fillings. You can use cheese, vegetables, sauces, tuna, and minced meat as fillings.
The cook shared on Instagram a recipe for a delicious and easy-to-prepare puff pastry pie with pesto sauce, cheese, and tomatoes.
Ingredients:
- 500 g of puff pastry
- pesto sauce
- 2 tomatoes
- 200 g of mozzarella in brine
- salt, herbs of Provence
- 1 egg yolk
- pine nuts
- basil
Method of preparation:
1. Put the thawed dough on the parchment, make shallow cuts along the edges.
2. Spread the pesto sauce over the dough and add the sliced tomatoes and mozzarella, salt and sprinkle with herbs of Provence. Brush the edges with egg yolk for a golden crust.
3. Put in a preheated 180-degree oven for 25-30 minutes.
If desired, sprinkle the cake with pine nuts and garnish with fresh basil leaves!
