Tomatoes can be cooked both halved and whole, the main thing is that they should not have cracks, otherwise they will turn into porridge after cooking. For a bright flavor, cooks recommend adding carrot tops.
A cook shared a recipe for delicious canned halved tomatoes with a delicious marinade on Instagram.
Ingredients:
- tomatoes
- oil - 1 tbsp. for each jar
- onion
- bay leaf - 1 per jar
- peppercorns - 4-5 peas per jar
- parsley
Marinade:
- for 1 liter of water, 2 tbsp salt, 5 tbsp sugar, 100 g vinegar, 5 pieces of bay leaf, bitter pepper to taste
Method of preparation:
1. Wash the tomatoes, cut them in half, and put them in jars with the cut side down. Top each layer of tomatoes with onions (cut into half rings) and parsley.
2. Add 1 tbsp of oil, 1 bay leaf, and 4-5 peppercorns.
3. For the marinade, pour everything into a saucepan, bring to a boil, pour into jars and sterilize for 8-10 minutes.
