How to deliciously pickle cucumbers at home
Summer is the best time to harvest a bountiful harvest of healthy berries, fruits, and, of course, vegetables. And it's time for canning, which will make you very happy in the winter. All you need to do is choose a delicious recipe and start cooking.
Ukrainian politician Boryslav Bereza shared on Facebook his wife Natalia's signature recipe for delicious canned cucumbers, which always turn out to be very juicy and crispy.
Ingredients:
- cucumbers - 2 kg
- garlic - 1-2 cloves for each jar
- water - 2 liters
- salt - 4 tbsp.
- sugar - 4 tbsp
- vinegar - 40 g
- horseradish, dill, bay leaf - 1 pc. per jar
- peppercorns - 1-2 pcs. per jar
Method of preparation:
- Put dill, horseradish, bay leaf, peppercorns, garlic, and a few currant leaves on the bottom of the jar.
- Then we put the cucumbers in tightly, pour boiling water over them, and leave them for 15 minutes.
- Afterwards, pour the water from the jars into a saucepan and make a brine: add 2 tablespoons of salt, 2 tablespoons of sugar, 40 grams of vinegar to 1 liter of water, and bring to a boil.
- Pour boiling water over the cucumbers again for 20 minutes.
- When the brine boils, drain the water from the jars and pour it over the prepared brine, close the jar, transfer it to a dark, cool place, turn it upside down, cover it with a warm towel or blanket, and leave it to cool completely.
You can eat these cucumbers in a couple of months.
