When you really want something tasty and homemade, but you don't want to work with dough, you can make delicious and delicate cakes with Prombourg cream and strawberries. Even though they are made from store-bought dough, their taste will impress even the most demanding gourmets.

Food blogger iriska_dimitrova shared how to make these cakes on Instagram. This dessert will also come in handy when guests are already at your doorstep and you have nothing to treat them with.

Ingredients

  • Puff pastry - 1 kg
  • Milk - 250 ml
  • Condensed milk - 60 g
  • Eggs - 2 pcs
  • Sugar - 60 gr
  • Corn starch - 20 g
  • Vanilla sugar - ½ tsp
  • Butter - 30 g
  • Strawberries

Method of preparation

1.Defrost the puff pastry and cut it into strips about 1.5 - 2 cm wide.

2. Take 2 strips, intertwine them with each other and twist them into a snail. Be sure to seal the end at the bottom.

3. Transfer to a baking sheet covered with parchment and bake for about 20 to 25 minutes at 180°, until golden brown.

4. Prepare the cream. Bring the milk to a boil, remove from heat and dissolve the condensed milk in it.

5. Beat eggs with sugar until smooth, add starch and mix to avoid lumps.

6. Pour about a third of the hot milk mixture into the egg mixture in a thin stream, stirring constantly.

7. Pour into a saucepan to the milk mass. On low heat, stirring constantly, bring the cream to thicken.

8. Remove from heat, add butter and vanilla sugar. Let it cool down.

9. Assemble the cakes. Make a small depression in the middle of each base, pressing it down with a spoon. Spread the cream and decorate with strawberries.
