Salads are an ideal dish for lunch, dinner and a festive table. One of them is a delicious and very easy to prepare salad: Caesar. It's worth noting that there are many variations of this salad, with different sauces and different ingredients. For example, fish, seafood, bacon are often added instead of chicken, and plain mayonnaise is used instead of the classic sauce, which spoils the taste of the dish.

Culinary expert Yevhen Klopotenko has shared his tips and a recipe for a Caesar salad on his website.

Tips from the cook:

1. Croutons can be cooked in a frying pan or oven with garlic.

2. The original recipe requires Worcestershire sauce, but it can be replaced with balsamic or apple cider vinegar.

3. Romaine lettuce is the best choice for this dish as it has strong leaves and its nutty flavor is very harmonious in this dish.

Ingredients:

  • Romaine lettuce - 8 leaves
  • white bread - 4 pieces

For the dressing:

  • anchovies - 8 pcs.
  • American mustard - 1 tsp.
  • olive oil - 30 ml
  • Parmesan cheese - 2 tbsp.
  • garlic - 2 cloves.
  • egg yolk - 1 pc.
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 tbsp.

Method of preparation:

1. Wash lettuce leaves and dry them on a paper towel.

2. Cut bread and dry the pieces in the oven.

3. For the dressing, finely chop anchovies, add chopped garlic and Worcestershire sauce, add egg yolk and oil, and whisk thoroughly.

4. Tear the lettuce leaves, put them in a bowl, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and pour the prepared sauce over. Mix everything and serve the delicious salad.

Sprinkle the salad with breadcrumbs before serving!
