"Caesar" in a new way: what not to add to the salad for a perfect taste
"Caesar" salad is one of the most delicious and elementary dishes to prepare. There are a lot of recipes for this salad, but almost all of them include chicken, cheese, and sauce.
If you're tired of the classic salad, you can prepare it in a new way. Nutritionist Svitlana Nikitchuk shared her recipe for an unusual "Caesar" salad on Instagram.
Secrets from an expert:
1. The yogurt sauce will make this salad special, and you can use shrimp instead of meat.
2. Heat the flat plate a little and run a sliced garlic clove over the entire plate to create a spicy flavor.
It's worth noting that only one ingredient can ruin a salad – mayonnaise. Therefore, the best is a sauce based on natural yogurt.
Ingredients:
- Lettuce or Chinese cabbage – 100 g
- Chicken fillet/shrimp – 100 g
- Whole grain bread – 50 g
- Parmesan cheese – 30 g
- Tomatoes (cherry) – 3-4 pcs.
- Chicken eggs – 2 pcs.
- Garlic – 1 clove
For the sauce:
- ⠀ Yogurt – 50 ml.
- Lemon juice – 1 tbsp.
- Salt – 1/4 tsp.
- Mustard – 1/4 tsp.
- Boiled egg yolk – 1 pc.
Method of preparation:
1. Cook the fillet in salted water.
2. Fry without oil in a non-stick frying pan, you can also use a grill.
3. Cut the cooked meat into medium slices.
4. Boil and chop the eggs, reserve one boiled yolk for the sauce.
5. Wash the lettuce leaves and tear them by hand.
6. Cut the bread into cubes, and dry in a frying pan or the oven until golden brown.
7. Grate the cheese or cut it very thinly into small flakes.
8. Cut the tomatoes into halves or quarters.
9. Sauce: put all the ingredients in a blender and beat until smooth.
10. Assemble the salad: heat a flat plate a little and run a sliced garlic clove across the plate, this will give the dish a special, spicy flavor.
Put all the ingredients on a dish in layers: lettuce, meat, eggs, breadcrumbs, grated cheese. Pour the sauce over the top and garnish with tomatoes.
