Sauerkraut is a very tasty winter dish that almost every hostess knows how to prepare. The most important thing is to make it without bitterness. Other vegetables, such as carrots, beets, onions, spices, sugar, salt, zira will give unusual flavors to the dish.
Cook Olga Matvii shared on her YouTube channel a recipe for delicious and flavorful sauerkraut with beets, which will turn out crispy.
Ingredients:
- Cabbage
- Carrots
- Beet
- Herbs
- Garlic
- Peppercorns
- Coriander
- Water - 1 liter
- Salt - 2.5 tbsp.
- Sugar - 1 tbsp.
- Vinegar - 0,5 cup
Method of preparation:
1. Cut the cabbage in half.
2. Dice the beet.
3- Chop the carrots finely as well.
4. Chop the chili peppers finely.
5. Chop the garlic.
6. Place the cabbage in the jar, alternating with the vegetables and spices.
7. Marinade: pour water into a saucepan, add sugar, salt, heat, remove from heat and pour in vinegar, stir.
8. Pour the ready hot marinade over the cabbage in the jar.
9. Cabbage can be eaten after 24 hours, but it is better to wait three days!
