Cabbage "Pelustka" with beets: how to cook a delicious and crispy appetizer

"Pelustka"pickled cabbage is a quick appetizer. It is traditionally prepared with beets, garlic, and a good marinade. You can eat this appetizer in 2 days, it is very crispy and sweet.

One of the culinary blogs(hotuyte_ta_smakuyte) published a recipe for crispy pickled cabbage "Pelustka" with beets on Instagram .

Ingredients:

  • cabbage - 1 medium
  • beets - 1 pc
  • garlic - 1 head

Marinade:

  • salt - 2 tbsp. l.
  • sugar - 4 tbsp
  • vinegar - 70 ml
  • vegetable oil - 50 ml
  • water - 1 liter (boiling water)
  • peppercorns
  • bay leaves

Method of preparation:

1. Wash the cabbage, remove the head of cabbage, cut into large pieces similar to petals.

2. Peel the beets (raw) and cut them into slices. Cut the garlic into slices as well.

3. Put the cut vegetables in layers in a jar or container.

4. To prepare the marinade, mix all the necessary ingredients.

5. Pour the hot marinade over the vegetables. Put some weight on top and leave it at room temperature for 2-3 days. Then store in the refrigerator.
