Bulk apple pie without dough: just melts in your mouth

Apple pie is the simplest homemade pastry that can be prepared in different ways: with puff pastry, filo or cheese, or without, replacing the base with pita bread.

Food blogger Iryna Lazun (iren.lazun) shared a recipe for a bulk apple pie on her Instagram page that doesn't require any dough.

Ingredients:

  • apples - 1.5 kg (grated 1.2 kg)
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp.
  • flour - 140 g
  • sugar - 140 g
  • semolina - 160 g
  • baking powder - 2 tsp.
  • vanilla sugar - 1 p
  • butter - 100 g

Method of preparation:

1. Mix all dry ingredients: semolina, flour, vanilla sugar and baking powder. This will be the so-called pie dough, and it needs to be divided into 4 parts.

2. Peel the apples (you don't have to), grate them, and mix them with the cinnamon.

3. Cover the baking dish with parchment and grease with oil. Put the first part of the dough and a layer of apples. Repeat until you run out of ingredients. The last layer should be dry dough.

4. Grate the frozen butter on top.

5. Bake in the oven at 170 degrees for 55-60 minutes. Serve and cut the pie completely cooled.
