Budget casserole with bechamel sauce: a nutritious, easy-to-prepare dish
A casserole is a type of dish that can be made from almost any product. Housewives simply love to cook it, because you can use your imagination and combine many interesting flavors.
For example, food blogger Alex Mil offered his own recipe for casserole on his Instagram. It is made with bechamel sauce and is quite budget-friendly.
Ingredients for the casserole
- Onion - 150 gr
- Carrots - 150 gr
- Sweet pepper - 300-400 g
- Oil - 2.5 tbsp
- Chicken fillet or minced meat - 600 g
- Potatoes - 450 gr
- Tomato - 150 g
- Salt
- Pepper
- Paprika
- Provencal herbs
Ingredients for the sauce
- Oil - 15 ml
- Butter - 30 gr
- Warm milk - 500 ml
- Flour - 1 tbsp
- Pepper
- Nutmeg
- Salt
- Hard cheese - 100 gr
Method of preparation
1. Fry the onion in vegetable oil for 3-4 minutes.
2. Add the diced carrots and sweet pepper, salt, stir-fry for 7-8 minutes, and remove from the pan.
3. Fry the chopped meat or minced meat in vegetable oil, add potatoes, salt, pepper, paprika, Provencal herbs, and stir-fry for 5 minutes.
4. Pour in the tomato puree, add the fried vegetables. And simmer for 15-20 minutes.
5. Prepare the sauce. Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan and add butter. Wait until it melts.
6. Add 2 tbsp of flour and knead. Pour in warm milk, add salt, pepper and nutmeg.
7. Stir until the sauce thickens slightly. Add grated cheese.
8. Throw the vegetables into a baking dish, pour the sauce and bake for 25-30 minutes at 180 degrees.
