Boiled bacon with spices in a bag: the method is also suitable for the underbelly
Lard is a delicious, hearty traditional Ukrainian product that can be eaten in any form: raw, baked, fried, boiled, and added to various dishes.
Food blogger Zhanna with the nickname zha457 shared a recipe for boiled lard in a delicious marinade with honey, mustard, and soy sauce on her Instagram page. It is noted that this method of cooking is also suitable for underbelly.
Ingredients:
- Lard/underbelly - 1 kg
Marinade:
- honey - 1 tsp.
- mustard - 1 tsp.
- salt - 1 tsp.
- soy sauce - 1 tsp.
- garlic
- paprika - 1 tsp.
- black pepper
Method of preparation:
1. First you need to mix all the necessary ingredients for the marinade.
2. Use the resulting mass to grease the lard or underbelly on all sides. Put it in a bag and tie it tightly to prevent air from entering, leave it in this form for 30 minutes.
3. After half an hour, wrap the lard in two more bags and tie them tightly. Put it in a pot of water, bring to a boil and cook for 1.5 hours (after 45 minutes, turn the lard to the other side). If you like soft lard, cook for 2 hours.
4. Take the boiled lard out of the bag and eat it.
