Better than grated: winter pie with cherry filling on the most successful pastry
Cherry pie is a perfect home-made winter treat for tea and coffee. The pie can be prepared on different dough, but it is better to make sandy, it always turns out well. For the filling you can use not only cherries, but also any berries and fruits you like, as well as nuts and spices.
Culinarian Anna (grennysmith) shared on Instagram a recipe for a delicious cherry pie with cherry filling that you will make very quickly.
Ingredients:
For the pastry:
- flour - 300 g
- cold butter - 200 g
- ice water - 100 ml
- salt - a pinch
- lemon juice - a few drops
For the filling:
- seedless cherries - 500 g
- sugar - 100 g
- starch - 3 tbsp.
- cinnamon - 1/4 tsp.
Method of preparation:
1. sand dough: cut or grate butter, mix with flour into a crumb, add water and lemon juice. Make a ball, transfer to the refrigerator.
2. Filling: all the ingredients for the filling should be heated together so that the cherries release their juice and it thickens with the starch.
3- Roll out the dough and place 2/3 of it in the mold, top with the chilled filling and top again with 1/3 of the dough.
4. Bake the cake until cooked through.
The dessert is best served hot, with ice cream, but you can serve it without!
