Better than charlotte: what to add to the apple pie
Apples are a versatile fruit that can be used to make delicious desserts at any time of the year. Moreover, these fruits are quite budget-friendly. Traditionally, they are used to make charlotte, but there is a much more interesting interpretation of this pie.

Ingredients for the dough:
- flour - 0.5
- sugar - 10 tbsp
- baking powder - 1 sachet
- vanilla sugar
- butter or margarine - 250 g
- yolk - 4 pcs
- sour cream - 1 tbsp
Ingredients for the filling:
- apples - 1 kg
- whites - 4 pcs
- sugar - 6 tbsp
- vanilla sugar - 1 sachet
- jelly - 1 sachet
- semolina - 1 tbsp
- cinnamon
The method of dough preparation:
1. Sift flour. Add vanilla sugar, baking powder, grate frozen or cold butter, and mix everything into crumbs.
2. Add sugar, sour cream, egg yolks, and knead the dough.
3. Wrap 1/3 of the total amount of dough in plastic film and leave in the freezer for 1 hour.
4. Put the rest of the dough into a baking dish covered with parchment and form the sides.
5. Sprinkle the dough with semolina.
6. Peel the apples and cut them into pieces.
7. Put on the dough and sprinkle with cinnamon.
To prepare the filling:
1. Beat the whites with a pinch of salt and gradually add sugar.
2. Beat until fluffy mass.
3. Add jelly at the end and continue beating for 30-40 seconds.
4. Pour over the apples.
5. Grate the rest of the dough on top.
6. Bake at 180 degrees for 50-55 minutes.
