Berry crumble: how to make the perfect summer dessert
A crumble is a dish that came to us from Ireland and is an easy-to-make pastry with a salty or sweet filling. Sweet crumble is served with yogurt, ice cream, or cream.
Food blogger Lisa Glinska knows exactly how to make a berry crumble. On Instagram, she talked about the ingredients for this dessert, as well as which berries are best suited to it.
Ingredients for the dough
- Flour - 80 gr
- Butter 82% - 70 gr
- Brown sugar - 50 gr
- Oatmeal - 40 g
Ingredients for the filling
- Raspberries - 100 g
- Strawberries - 100 g
- Pitted cherries - 100 g
- Blueberries - 50 g
- Sugar - 30 g
- Corn starch - 20 g
The way of preparation
1.Prepare the dough. Combine flour, sugar and oatmeal. Mix well.
2. Add cold butter and knead until crumbs form.
3. Spread the crumbs on a baking sheet covered with parchment.
4. Put the baking sheet in the freezer for 30-40 minutes.
5. Place in a preheated 180 degree oven for 12-15 minutes. Take it out and let it cool completely.
6. Prepare the berry filling. Chop the strawberries and put them in a saucepan with the rest of the berries.
7. Mix sugar with starch and add to the berries. Stir.
8. Turn on the heat and bring to a boil, stirring constantly, and then cook for another 20-30 seconds. Transfer the resulting mass to a bowl and let it cool.
9. Spread a little crumble on the bottom of a glass or serving dish, put the filling on top, and repeat the layers to the top of the glass. The last layer should be crumble.
