Ingredients:

  • 3 medium beets
  • 8 medium tomatoes
  • 5-7 cloves of garlic
  • 100 ml of vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp. red hot pepper
  • 1 tbsp. salt or to taste
  • 2 tbsp sugar, can be replaced with natural syrup
  • 1 tbsp of tomato paste
  • a handful of walnuts, if desired

1. Grate the beetroot on a fine grater and simmer in oil over low heat for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

2. Peel the tomatoes and beat them in a blender.

3. Add to the beets and simmer for another 20-30 minutes.
