Many people have unpleasant associations with barley since kindergarten or camp. But this situation can be easily fixed by knowing what to combine this product with. For example, barley groats are often used to make dietary cutlets, or simply boiled with vegetables and tuna. In any case, it turns out to be quite satisfying and budget-friendly.
Food blogger Ulyana (uliana.blog_) shared a recipe for barley porridge with vegetables and tuna on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- onion - 1 pc.
- garlic - 4 cloves
- carrot - 1 pc
- barley groats - 200 g
- tuna in oil - 1 b
- canned corn - 1 b
- vegetable seasoning - 1 tbsp.
- herbs
Method of preparation:
1. Chop the onion and garlic. Fry them.
2. Grate the carrots. Add to the onion. Fry for another 10 minutes.
3. Boil the groats until tender.
4. Add the porridge, corn and tuna to the vegetables. Stir to combine.
5. Simmer over low heat for 10 minutes.
