Erika IlyinaLS Food

Banosh is a traditional dish from western Ukraine made from corn grits. Thousands of people come to Galicia to taste banosh and experiment with various additions. But we shouldn't forget about buckwheat, which is one of the most popular types of cereal in our country.

But what if you like banosh and buckwheat porridge equally? That's right! You need to try cooking them together. This is exactly what food blogger Vladimir Yaroslavsky did and posted the results of his experiment on Instagram.

Ingredients:

  • Ground corn - 75 g
  • Ground buckwheat - 75 g
  • Milk - 950 ml
  • Cream 30% - 120 ml (or 180 g of sour cream)
  • Butter - 40 g
  • For the cheese
  • Stewed cheeks
  • Butter
  • Nuts

Method of preparation:

1. Bring the milk to a boil, and stir in the corn and then the buckwheat in a thin stream, stirring constantly with a spatula.

2. Add salt and bring the mixture to a low boil. Stir for about 5-7 minutes.

3. Finally, add sour cream or cream and a piece of butter. Stir.

4. Serve with stewed cheeks (can be replaced with bacon), cheese, or flavored oil, sprinkled with nuts.
