Baked leg of lamb: how to cook a delicious dish for Easter
If you want to really surprise your family with a dish on the Easter table, you should pay attention to this recipe. Baked leg of lamb will not leave anyone indifferent, because it has an unusual spicy taste, juiciness, and golden crust.
This effect of the leg of lamb can be achieved thanks to an interesting marinade. Food blogger Olga Ryabenko shared how to prepare this dish on Instagram.
Ingredients for the marinade:
- Mild mustard – 1 tbsp.
- Dijon mustard – 1 tbsp
- Oil – 150 ml
- Spices for meat – 1 tbsp
- Honey – 1 tbsp
- Garlic – 5 cloves
- Salt – 2 tsp
- Pepper – 1 tsp.
Ingredients for baking:
- Onion – 450 gr
- Garlic – 1 piece
- Thyme – 3 sprigs
- Rosemary – 3 sprigs
- Water or broth – 200 ml
- Brown sugar – 50 gr
- Balsamic vinegar – 30 gr
- Salt
- Pepper
- Oil
Method of preparation:
1. Put the peeled onion, cut into pieces, garlic, cut in half, thyme and rosemary in the mold.
2. Make cuts in the meat.
3. Mix all the ingredients for the marinade, grate the meat and leave to marinate for 3 hours at room temperature, or better overnight.
4. Pour the broth or water to the bottom. Cover with foil.
5. Preheat the oven to 180° and bake for 3 hours. Remove the foil. Take out the garlic, rosemary, and thyme. Pour over the meat and add the brown sugar, balsamic vinegar, and mix everything with the onion.
6. Cover again with foil and bake for another 1 hour. Remove the foil, raise the temperature to 220°, and bake for another 20 minutes.
