Autumn "Dressed herring" salad without beets and mayonnaise: what to add for an original taste
The Dressed herring salad is an elementary dish that everyone can cook. In the classic version, it is based on beets, herring, baked vegetables and mayonnaise. But if you experiment a bit by adding uncharacteristic products to the dish, such as mushrooms, processed cheese, mussels, or celery, you will get a completely original dish with incredible taste.
The FoodOboz editorial team has chosen for you a recipe for an unusual autumn salad "Dressed herring" without beets, mayonnaise, but with mushrooms and sour cream. The recipe of the non-classical dish was shared by TV hosts Valentyna Khamaiko and Oleksandr Popov on the air of "Breakfast Recipes on 1+1".
Ingredients:
- mushrooms - 300 g
- onions - 3 pcs.
- potatoes - 3 pcs.
- herring fillet - 3 pcs.
- potatoes - 3-4 pcs.
- sour cream - 3-4 tbsp. l.
- salt, pepper - to taste
- greens - bunch
- oil for frying
Method of preparation:
1. Finely chop the mushrooms together with the onion and fry in vegetable oil, season with salt and pepper.
2. Boil or bake the potatoes, peel and grate them.
3. Finely chop the greens.
4. Dice the herring fillet.
4. Assemble the salad: put a layer of herring, potatoes, sour cream, mushrooms, and herbs on top.
Put the salad in the refrigerator for 1 hour and you can eat.
