Apple jam with an unexpected ingredient: it turns out to be thick and not sugary
Say what you will, but apple jam is one of the best sweet preparations. And to make it really thick and not too sugary, experienced housewives often add vinegar to the jam. In addition, vinegar gives the jam a special spicy note and fully reveals the flavor of the preserves.

Ingredients:
- apples (peeled and cut) - 5 liters
- sugar - 1.5 kg
- vinegar - 100 ml
Method of preparation:
1. Peel and chop the apples.
2. Cover the apples with sugar and pour vinegar. Put the container with apples under the press and leave overnight.
3. Then mix the apples and put them on the fire. Bring to a boil and cook for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Important: after boiling, reduce the heat and do not cover the pan completely with a lid. Also, stir occasionally.
4. Put the hot jam into sterile jars. Close the lids when the jam has cooled slightly in the jar.
