An interesting salad of beets and pickled cucumbers: you do not need mayonnaise
A salad of beets and pickles is budget-friendly, quick, low-calorie, and even healthy as it is prepared without harmful mayonnaise. Sour cream and mustard are used as a dressing. When serving this salad, it is recommended to sprinkle it with walnuts, which give the dish a fragrant aroma and original taste.
Food blogger Tetiana Sheremet, known as tania_sheremet_, shared a recipe for a salad of beets and pickles on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- beets - 3 pcs
- pickled cucumber - 2 pcs
- onion - 1 pc
- sugar - 1 tsp
- grain mustard - 1 tbsp.
- sour cream - 2 tbsp
- salt, pepper
- walnuts
Method of preparation:
1. Cut the onion first into quarters and then into half rings. Fry until golden brown, adding sugar.
2. Boil the beets and cut into cubes. Dice the cucumbers as well.
3. Mix onion, beets, and cucumbers. Add mustard, sour cream and spices.
4. Sprinkle with chopped nuts when serving.
