It is commonly believed that tropical fruits should not be kept in the refrigerator because they do not like coolness. However, in the case of bananas, this statement only applies when the fruit is still green. When you buy green bananas, simply place them in a fruit bowl or on the kitchen counter and wait until their peel turns yellow.

Once this happens, put the bananas in the refrigerator away from other fruits. This way, they won't be exposed to ethylene gas, which speeds up the rotting process. And if the peel of your bananas does start to turn black, you can peel them, put them in an airtight bag, and freeze them. Frozen bananas can be used to make a variety of desserts and smoothies.
They will be stored for up to 10 days.
