For any product to be safe and healthy for several days, it seems to us that it is enough to store it properly in the refrigerator and that's it. Who would have thought that such a product is rice, namely rice porridge, which should not be eaten the day after cooking to avoid poisoning, experts say, as reported by the US Public Health Service.
Why is rice porridge so dangerous?
According to experts, raw rice contains Bacillus cereus spores that can easily cause digestive disorders.
The danger is that pathogenic microorganisms can remain even after rice is cooked, and even worse, they can multiply during storage of the finished product. That is why eating rice porridge the next day can be doubly dangerous.
It is worth noting that, according to experts, such rice can cause many problems with the digestive system, as well as cause vomiting and other health problems.
But this is not a reason to give up such a useful and necessary product, you just need to eat it properly – boil it and eat it immediately, so you will only benefit from it.
It is worth knowing that you can store cooked rice at room temperature for only 1 hour.
