Eating doughnuts, especially in the morning, can lead to a deterioration in a person's mood.

This conclusion was reached by scientists from the UK after conducting a study on the impact of different dishes on well-being. They determined that the participants of the experiment, in which 2 thousand adults took part, felt worst after them, ETimes reports.

The fact is that eating them in the morning causes a rise in blood sugar levels and then a sharp drop. This dessert also has a bad effect on the intestines, as it combines simple carbohydrates and fats.

It is noted that the list of foods that can worsen mood also includes alcohol, soft drinks, and energy drinks. The rest of the foods on the list included processed meals and snacks that were full of simple carbohydrates.

However, some foods can increase happiness. These include coffee, dark chocolate, grapes, popcorn, bananas, nuts, coconut, almonds, berries, oranges, and tea.

Earlier, FOOD OBOZ reported on foods that are natural energizers and can help when you run out of energy and get overwhelmed by the winter blues. Among them are green tea, ginger, citrus fruits, sea buckthorn, St. John's wort, chia seeds, ginseng, lemongrass, and others. They can be found in regular stores and pharmacies.
