Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and it should be hearty. It is best to cook cheesecakes, omelets, and scrambled eggs in the morning, as well as make delicious toast, plain pancakes, vegetable rolls, as well as casseroles, and milk porridge.
Nutritionist Nadiia Zhylina shared on Instagram several options for healthy breakfasts that you can prepare in just 5 minutes.
The expert noted that breakfast should be protein and fat, containing complex carbohydrates, and this balance will keep you full for 4-5 hours.
5 options for healthy breakfasts:
1. Oatmeal
With cottage cheese, basil, and tomato, nuts, scrambled eggs with mushrooms and onions + fresh vegetables and herbs to your taste.
2. Oatmeal pancake
What filling can be used:
- avocado + feta + arugula
- lightly salted salmon + feta + arugula
- mozzarella + tomatoes
- cottage cheese + berries
3. Scrambled eggs and toast with avocado, fresh or cooked vegetables, herbs, pumpkin seeds, and berries for dessert.
4. Millet with grated cheese, an omelet with tomatoes and mushrooms, and any fresh or cooked vegetables, herbs, and nuts.
5. Roll with tuna
You will need pita bread, tuna in its juice, tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers, and cream cheese. Add nuts to the roll to taste, and berries for dessert.
The expert explained why you should eat eggs for breakfast:
"Because it is the reference protein, the best in terms of digestibility, and it is better to start your meal with protein. The yolk is an excellent choleretic and contributes to a good contraction of the bile duct and bile release after a night's sleep. And bile itself is an integral part of digestion and good fats and fat-soluble vitamins," the expert summarized.
