They will be snow-white again: how to clean dirty sneakers
White sneakers never go out of style and fit most outfits in completely different styles. However, they get dirty even faster than any other white item. Therefore, you have to take care of them more carefully.
Cleanliness experts have their life hacks on how to return white shoes to their original appearance with less effort and almost no time. OBOZ.UA found out their secrets.
Even sneakers with stubborn stains and visible scuffs will look like new if you use a special mixture that combines the power of several cleaning products at once. To make it, combine 1/4 cup dishwashing liquid, 1/2 cup hydrogen peroxide, and 1/4 cup baking soda in a bowl.
Next, pull the laces out of your shoes and use a toothbrush to apply the mixture to your sneakers. Don't skimp on the cleaner, apply it generously for best results. Dishwashing detergent will take care of dirt, baking soda will act as an abrasive and remove odors, and hydrogen peroxide will gradually whiten the material of the sneakers. Clean your shoes this way, inside and out, and don't forget to treat the tongue properly. Then leave the treated pair for 45 minutes to allow the mixture to work as deeply as possible.
Finally, wash the sneakers in the washing machine. Choose a fast cycle – no more than 30 minutes and low spin speed. You do not need to add additional detergent. But don't forget to put the pair in the laundry bag.
Be sure to remove the insoles before washing. Also, dry the sneakers after such cleaning in the air – do not put them in a tumble dryer or near a heating device.
