The question of washing bedding causes a lot of discussion, namely what temperature should be set and how often you should change the bedding. Weekly washing is considered traditional, but there are nuances to consider. If you sweat a lot, are sick, or sleep with pets, the interval should be increased.

Overnight, sheets accumulate dead skin cells, sweat, viruses, bacteria, and dust mites. Experts have told us at what temperature you should wash your bedding.

While dead skin cells and sweat certainly don't sound too appealing, cleaning experts at Fantastic Services say it's dust mites and their byproducts that cause the most problems.

Dust mites live exclusively on dead skin cells, so they "thrive" in beds and bedding. However, washing bedding regularly helps control their number.

"In general, the best temperature for washing bedding is between 30 and 40 degrees Celsius," the experts emphasized. Thus, don't turn on high temperatures hoping that it will help kill germs.

In addition, pay attention to the maximum load for the device. Overloading stresses the motor, and sheets get cleaner if they have plenty of room to move during the wash.

Delicate laundry can be damaged by mixing it with coarser fabrics, such as towels. This is because the thicker fabrics will cause friction between them during the wash cycle, which can cause the delicate fibers to chip or tear over time.

Do not overuse the detergent. Excessive amounts of powder can also damage the fibers, causing the bedding to wear out faster.
