- Plain vodka will do the trick. Mix vodka with water in a 1:1 ratio in a spray bottle and spray the solution directly onto the affected area.
- Leave the liquid on for 1-15 minutes and then wipe it off with a clean cloth.
This product not only cleans the mold, but also kills the fungal spores, which will prevent the mold from reappearing.
Be sure to use only plain, flavorless vodka, as flavored liquids can attract beetles and ants due to their sugar content.
White vinegar will also come in handy. It will effectively remove black mold from bathroom sealant and other areas.
- Mix water and vinegar in a 3:1 ratio and add a little dishwashing detergent.
- Wipe the affected areas thoroughly with a damp sponge and dry with kitchen paper or a napkin.
Vodka and vinegar leave a rather specific pungent odor. If you want to try a gentler option, try tea tree oil. This is an effective and non-toxic method that will remove even deep mold.
- Mix two cups of lukewarm water and 2 tablespoons of tea tree oil in a spray bottle and spray on the moldy areas.
- There is no need to rinse this product off. Just wait for the active ingredients to work and wipe the surface with a damp sponge.
