Black things can lose their brightness over time, and this process is only accelerated in spring and summer. In addition to regular washing, which washes out the dye, sunlight is also added, which quickly fades the black color.

But don't throw away a black item that has lost its brightness. Some simple life hacks with improvised means can help bring back the color of your favorite T-shirt or shirt. OBOZ.UA has collected a few of these life hacks.

Soaking in vinegar can dissolve the whitish lime deposits on not-so-new black things, which will instantly restore their brightness. To do this, pour warm water into a bowl and dilute vinegar in it at the rate of a tablespoon per liter. Put the garment in the solution and leave it for 30 minutes, then wash it as usual and dry it in the open air to allow it to air out.

Strong coffee can bring back the brightness of black things. To use it, pour boiling water into a bowl and add enough ground coffee to make a strong, thick, and very dark infusion. Strain the liquid and, while it is still hot, soak the clothes you want to freshen for 30 minutes. Then dry all the clothes and only then wash them in the usual way. In addition to restoring color, soaking in water also helps to get rid of stubborn odors from the fabric.

An infusion of dried tobacco leaves also can refresh black. Take a tablespoon of the product, pour a liter of boiling water over it, and leave it to steep until the water cools completely. Meanwhile, wash the black clothes you want to refresh. Then strain the tobacco infusion and use a sponge to wipe the T-shirt or jeans evenly with the resulting liquid. Apply the tobacco product as evenly as possible to avoid staining the fabric. When the treatment is complete, let the garment air dry.

Black tea with vinegar

Not only coffee but also black tea can restore brightness to things. Brew a few tea bags in a bowl of boiling water to make a fairly strong infusion, and then add 2-3 tablespoons of vinegar to it. Put the black clothes in the resulting solution and leave them to soak until the liquid cools. Then wash and dry the clothes as usual.
