What "high fashion" looks like in Russia: clown makeup, humble shirt and camouflage. Photo from Moscow Fashion Week
The Moscow Fashion Week continues in the Russian capital, and this year it is positioned as a purely "patriotic" event. Because of the bloody war against the Ukrainian people, famous fashion houses, eminent designers and catwalk stars have turned their backs on Russia.
Instead, among the participants one can see residents of Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Makhachkala. The "guests" of the event can be counted on the fingers of one hand: artists from Brazil, India, Indonesia, China, and South Africa arrived in Russia.
Russian officials emphasize that one of the important industries represented at the Fashion Week was "textile factories," because "due to the change in supply chains, there should be no difficulties with materials for work or accessories."
Interestingly, the main idea of the "friends" from India was to put clown makeup on the Russian models. There were also camouflage-inspired looks on the runway.
