Top makeup artists named 8 trends worth knowing about in 2024

The equator of the year has been passed, which is why experts have presented the beauty trends that will prevail until the end of 2024. Professionals noted that trends are heavily influenced by social media, in particular TikTok, so you can safely look for inspiration on influencers' pages.

Makeup artists shared their beauty forecasts for the next six months. Who What Wear has identified 8 of the most striking trends.

Hybrid concealer

As demand for foundations has increased, so-called "hybrid products" have emerged that perform multiple functions at once. "The emergence of 2-in-1 concealers that provide full coverage where it's needed stands out as a game-changing trend," says Artie Pal, makeup artist and member of the British Beauty Council's DEI committee. "Not only does this technique effectively cover blemishes, dark circles and uneven skin tone, but it also provides a 'second skin' effect with makeup that's virtually invisible."

Blurred lip contour

In 2024, blurred lips are expected to be all the rage, says Marco Antonio, Chanel makeup artist and Hunger's fashion and beauty director. "When you think of a blurred lip, it's almost like a soft-focus image," he says. "This makeup technique creates a gradient effect on the lips, with a dull color from a darker shade in the center to softer and blurred edges.

Contouring in the shape of the letter "C"

Everyone has undoubtedly seen bloggers' blushes gradually rising from the cheeks to the cheekbones, and this technique is not going anywhere in 2024. "To get the 'high cheekbones', apply blush in a 'C' shape, starting from the temple area and down to the cheekbones, then up and just above the outer edges of the eyebrows to create this dramatic look," Antonio explains.

Glossy lips

Lip gloss is back in a big way. From tinted, lip-care glosses to multi-dimensional coverage, glossy lips have already proven to be a major makeup trend in 2024.

Bright eyeshadows

"I see the evolution of vibrant eye makeup in 2024," predicts Pal. "From bold designs to bright eyeliners and even rhinestones for special occasions, the eyes may become the most versatile, standout accessory that will allow for exciting expressions of individuality.

Ballerina makeup

The trend is for ballet makeup, minimal and sophisticated, with satin skin that shines like ballet shoes. "I see it as a sophisticated, ultra-chic, but extremely natural look," says Chanel makeup artist Kay Montano, "It's more about having your hair pulled back neatly and a fresh face where makeup is minimal and very unique. Skincare products work well here."

Ombre lips

"The '90s ombre lip has been around for quite some time and will remain on trend," says Antonio, "With lip pencils, this look can help define and emphasize the natural shape of the lips, making them look fuller and more defined, as well as providing longevity and versatility if you add lipstick. The expert draws attention to several key steps that will ensure a flawless look: "Start by preparing and moisturizing your lips, make sure your lip pencil is sharpened, and start gently outlining along your natural line."

Monochrome of the 90s

"The monochromatic color palette of the 90s with neutral shades of latte will remain in fashion," says Chanel makeup artist Ninny Nummela at. "Think eyes accented with matte brown shades combined with nude and reddish lips.
