Kate Moss showed the most fashionable hair color that has returned from the 90s: what is "dirty blonde"
The shade of blonde, which was pioneered by supermodel Kate Moss in the 90s, is back in fashion. The "dirty" tone will become the most trendy in winter 2025.
Vogue Italia assures that it suits everyone and that is why it will be at the highest levels of choice for colorists. This is also confirmed by London hairdresser Nicole Kahlani.
"Do I really need to say this? This shade of 'dirty blonde' suits everyone, so everyone wants it," she said.
Kate Moss is considered the founder and icon of this trend because of her coloring style in the 90s. The trend continues to this day – the supermodel could be seen on the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2024 runway with this tone.
Its difference from the classic blonde is its "warmer shades and dirty blonde roots," which are "especially attractive at this time of year because the sunlight is less intense." It is considered one of the most successful and versatile shades because of its maximum neutrality and the fact that it suits any skin tone: from rosy pink to cold.
"The key elements of this look are a level 8 base at the roots – either natural or created with bleaching - which I then blend towards the middle and ends, especially underneath, to create depth and volume. I also combine touches of rich golden blonde with honey tones, like Kate Moss's famous "indie dirty" color in the middle of the first decade of the 2000s," explains colorist Kahlani.
However, the "dirty blonde" has one obstacle – it needs to be renewed regularly. The hairdresser advises to visit the master every two months to maintain a beautiful shade of hair.
